Double-headed snakes
Apparently, double-headed snakes are quite rare. There are only about twenty-five different snakes with this occurrence. It is believed that the snakes are a deformity and result from incomplete division of the embryo during development. It can be seen in some animals such as turtles and kittens.
Recently, a two-headed snake was discovered in the town of Ndwendwe, north of Durban. A man who lives there found the snake in his garden and decided to contact a local snake catcher.
The snake was rescued by Nick Evans, a snake catcher and founder of the Snake Rescue organisation. The snake was handed over to uShaka Marine World. uShaka is a marine wildlife park in Durban. It has a Dangerous Creatures exhibit.
Nick Evans posted pictures of the snake on his social media account. The snake is named Jean-Claude and is thirty centimeters long.
Non-venomous snakes
